The following Local Rules apply to competitions organized by the Magyar Golf Club after August 25, 2022, which supersede all previously published Local Rules.
LOCAL RULES
[A] AREAS OUTSIDE THE PLAYGROUND
A-1 Area outside the field of play
Everything beyond the field fence, as well as the area delimited by white stakes or painted lines on the field.
• If there are also white stakes inside the fence, the field boundary is indicated by the line of the stakes.
A-4 Internal offside areas
• Only during the playing of the 18th section, the part of the court extending to the right of the section is an out-of-play area, with no distance limit from the striker to the penalty area. In the case of a ball played from section 18 to this area, 18.2b must be followed. When playing any other section, the same area is a regular section. The boundary line is marked by a row of black and white stakes, which are fixed boundary markers from section 18, immovable obstacles from section 17 and do not mark an area outside the border.
[B] PENALTIES
B-1 Definition of penalty areas
• There are only red penalty areas on the course, marked with red stakes and/or lines (on sections 15, 17, 18).
• Penalty areas closed to play (NO PLAY ZONE) are indicated by red stakes with green heads (on sections 1, 2, 3, 9, 10, 11, 16, 17)
[E] SPECIAL RELIEF
E-1 Dropping Zones
• A drop zone is designated for the NO PLAY zone behind the green on sections 1 and 3. If the ball is in the NO PLAY zone, including when it is known or certain to have been lost there, the player has the following relief options for a penalty stroke: either relieve under Rule 17.1 or drop the ball as an extra option in the designated drop zone .
E-8 NO PLAY zones
• The red penalty areas bordering sections 1, 2, 3, 9, 10, 11, 16 and 17 are zones closed to play in their entire extent, which are indicated by red stakes with green heads and/or lines in some places! Where there is both a stake and a line, the painted line is the guide! Playing from the area is prohibited even if only the stance or the intended swing plane is inside the area and the ball is outside it. The ball must be played according to rule 17.1e, relief is mandatory. Entry to the area (in order to pick up an easily noticeable ball) is permitted, only play is prohibited (in the event of a game, entry to play the ball is FORBIDDEN - in such a case, it is mandatory to use facilitation (free drop); i.e. if the ball is still in the playing area, but the to play, you would have to enter the NO PLAY zone or the swing would be disturbed by the NO PLAY zone (swing plane would touch the area of the NO PLAY zone), then the use of relief (free drop) is mandatory according to rule 16.1 f (2). regarding the position of the ball, call a referee immediately!
[F] ABNORMAL TRACK CONDITIONS
F-1 Definition of Abnormal Conditions
• Abnormal track conditions are indicated by blue stakes or lines blown with white paint (both markings mean the same thing, there is no difference between them). Relief (free drop) can also be used (but is not mandatory) if the abnormal job situation only interferes with our entry.
• Footgolf holes in the general area, parts of the irrigation system, benches, trash cans, section marking boards, distance marking discs, stakes indicating the area under renovation, the penalty area and the NO PLAY zones are immovable obstacles, for which the reliefs according to 16.1 apply. Footgolf flag poles, footgolf kickers, and distance marking stakes are movable obstacles, which are subject to the facilitations according to 15.2.
Note: By definition, the artificially paved surface or edge of roads and paths is an immovable obstacle. Dirt roads, trodden paths, tractor tracks, car wheel tracks are an integral part of the course, from which the ball must be played as it lies according to 9.1.
[G] DEVICE USE LIMITATION
G-7 Prohibition of Certain Shoes
• Only soft spike or spikeless shoes are allowed on the court.
[J] SUSPENSION OF THE GAME
J-1 Stop and restart the game
• Signals used to suspend or resume the game. 1 long horn signal: immediate suspension of the game in an emergency. 3 successive horn signals, repeated: normal suspension. 2 short horn signals, repeated: the game continues in both cases.
• Escape routes are included in the evacuation plan posted on the notice board of the clubhouse.
[K] THE PACE OF THE GAME
K-1 Level time of the competition round
• 4:28 hours on 18 sections.
K-2 Pace of play in stroke play competition
• Appendix No. 4 of the MGSZ Competition Rules provides for the tempo of the game, the handling of groups out of position, and the penalty for slow play.
